Daily Dose

The “Daily Dose” was started many years ago as a means of sharing wisdom and thought from all traditions and cultures. It consisted of two quotes that were sent out to hundreds of people all over the world. After 9/11/01 photographs were included with each dose. The initial series of photographs were from Afghanistan and they were intended to assist people to better understand that part of the world that we were about to attack.

You are invited to look over some of the past “Doses” that are included in this link and if you would like to be on the e-mailing list fill out the sign up form. Subscription to the Daily Dose is free and none of the information that you provide will ever be shared or sold to anyone else.

Do we not all spend the greater part of our lives under the shadow of an event that has not yet come to pass?

Maurice Maeterlinck

People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don’t even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child — our own two eyes. All is a miracle.

The line separating good and evil passes not through states, nor between classes, nor between political parties either — but right through every human heart — and through all human hearts. This line shifts. Inside us, it oscillates with the years. And even within hearts overwhelmed by evil, one small bridgehead of good is retained.

Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Indifference and neglect often do much more damage than outright dislike.

Whenever I see and erring man, I say to myself I have also erred; when I see a lustful man I say to myself, so was I once; and in this way I feel kinship with everyone in the world and feel that I cannot be happy without the humblest of us being happy.

Mahatma Gandhi

My country is the world and my religion is to do good.
